The Exilic Period
(597-538 BC): Iron Age III

The Southern kingdom of Judah fell to Nebuchadnezzar and the process of exile began. The rebellion of the remaining nobility so angered Nebuchadnezzar, he razed Solomon's Temple and destroyed much of the city of Jerusalem. During this period we see how a small number of faithful Israelites practice obedient worship to Yahweh despite being dispossessed and far from the promised land
